'Just another nice Moon corona' I said to myself as I was taking some pictures of the Moon behind the thin clouds. Nothing so special about it. The big surprise came afterwards when I decided to upload the pictures to my computer. At first I saw an annoying reflection in one of the photos. It happens some times when I shoot directly on a bright light source like the Sun or the Moon. But wait! What's this? This is not just a reflection. These are two Moons side by side next to the real one... This is just a reflection, a random event, but just imagine how strange the night sky would be if we had three celestial objects revolving around the Earth. Combined solar eclipses, spectacular occultations or even a collision would be some of the phenomena to witness. Who knows... Perhaps in another solar system somewhere... |
