Moon and Mars close encounter. Mars is just visible at the right of the picture. From time to time various stories circulate to the web (or even to the press!) claming that Mars will be visible as big as the Moon. This is totally inaccurate. Even at the closest distance from the Earth, Mars always appears as a small dot compared to the Moon.
