I have been into the fascinating world of astrophotography for five years. Every now and then, it comes a moment that rewards all the countless hours of shooting, the failures and the trips to distant lands just to take a shot. A few weeks ago I was fortunate to add one more of these moments to my collection. This time the place is in Kos island, Greece. I'm here on a business trip, working on a very tight schedule for over 12 hours every day. It was about midnight, when I saw the approaching storm and I just couldn't resist! I immediately overcame the fatigue, grabbed the camera and rushed to the nearest beach. One hour later, the result: Cassiopeia constellation, a lightning cloud, Greece's and Turkey's coast and myself submerged in the water. Why in the water? Well, perhaps out of excitement or I just needed something on the foreground to give a different perspective...
