One of the essential photography rules is to try balancing your photo by not having big 'empty' areas. This shot is taken with an inexpensive point and shoot camera. The technique used here is framing the main subject with tree branches. If you have difficulty filling your frame and there are not trees around, you may have to consider getting closer to your subject or use a telephoto lens or just zoom if you have a point and shoot camera. The last alternative which is not recommended is digitally crop the photo with your favorite photo processing software.
